The Company

ET Cetera is the English Theater Company of EPFL (Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Lausanne) and UNIL (University of Lausanne).

The Company likes to discover and try out ways of telling stories differently. We make every rehearsal an exploration of theater, its mechanics and its magic. We are fascinated with the strength of the relation between the script, the actors and the audience. As performers, we believe how we put on the play has an impact both during the show and in the time which follows it.

Based in Switzerland and acting in English, the multicultural aspect of our projects is very important to us. Each play is an occasion to be together in an atmosphere for learning that is built on trust, mutual respect and a love of drama.

The play is directed by Suzanne Balharry
Immersed in the theater since she was thirteen, Suzanne Balharry started directing in 2011. She staged The Women by Clare Boothe Luce (2012) and Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie (2013). In 2017, she restarted English Theater in the EPFL with ET Cetera, English Theater Company of EPFL, and staged Proof by David Auburn (2018). Her projects benefit from the support and impetus of Michel Toman, former dean of the theater section of the Conservatoire de Lausanne, and Roelof Overmeer, founder of the Sun & Moon Company. Her passion for theater led her to extend her Master’s degree in Art with a specialization in drama at the University of Lausanne.
